Our very first blog post! It feels like we should be cheersing on a mountain top publishing this! So exciting!

Codi and I have known each other for a little over 21 years. We both became photographers at separate times. We got together last August to co-shoot a mutual friend's wedding! From there, we realized how similar our styles, and workflows were and we basically knew right away that we needed to work on more projects together in the future. We didn’t really have any set plans, we just knew that we knew we wanted to work together! Fast forward to last October, we met up for brews and basically brain dumped on each other our wants, needs, and our wildest photography and business dreams. At that moment, we were both floored that we both had basically the same exact vision! Even down to who we followed on Insta for inspo- haha. That night I think we texted each other until like 12am (side note- I, Danyele am NOT a night owl) but I was so excited! All my creative juices were flowing and I literally could not stop thinking and dreaming about our future! From there, we basically texted each other non-stop! We met up a few more times and we ended up planning a day of mountain sessions.

As we always do before a shoot, we went up to scout out the area that we were planning to use, we stopped for coffee (a white chocolate americano with cream to be exact...we both drink the same drink lol) and hit the highway. Driving through the mountains, a place where we both find clarity, and during a ton of brainn dumping and conversation on our drive back down the mountain, our name Paths Collide came to fruition. Our paths were colliding and we couldn't wait to see how our paths would collide with others.

Collide has a few different meanings, but two meanings that stuck with us were impact, and strong force.

Impact; We both strongly believe in making a positive impact no matter what we do or where we go. Also, both of us wholeheartedly want to leave people better than we found them.

Strong force; we both bring so many things to the table. Sure, we have similar styles, but we both have many different qualities, and ideas. Together, we create a strong force.

Our name not only represents us, our beliefs, and qualities.. It also represents our clients. One of our core values is to create more of a relationship than a clientele. As we like to say we aren't just photographers, we are your tour guides, your planning buddy, your comedy relief, your besties with cameras. It’s true! Once you're a part of our community, you're in for life- haha! Once we decided on the name, it was when we really hit the ground running.

We created our logo, our website, Facebook, and Instagram! We announced Paths Collide on January 12th, 2020! We again, met up for beers during a Seahawks game and hit publish! Since then, Paths Collide has been in our lives daily. We talk nearly daily about what we want, how to improve on things, how we can make a better impact. It’s ever growing. We are both so incredibly grateful that we came together, and really let it all out. Had we not opened up to each other about our wildest dreams, you wouldn’t be reading this today! We look forward to sharing our winding, never ending path with you, and someday we hope our paths collide!

Cheers, Danyele
